About the Artist
Teresa’s love for drawing began in her very early years. Most every evening after bath time, as a child, Teresa would crawl into her dad’s lap (in his avocado green recliner) and he would lovingly teach her the fundamentals of art...shadows and contrast and perspective.
Little did Teresa know then that the passions which colored her childhood (her art and her time with her dad) would permeate her future in artistic ways at which even her dad would marvel! Teresa’s love for bodies of water and mermaids has followed her as well. She confessed at a very young age that her chosen profession was to be a mermaid. Although the reality of that decision set in as she grew, she never let go of the touch of that dream. She filled much of her adult life with windsurfing and was well respected in that field with so few females. She, actually, lived in Maui for many years surrounding herself with the most beautiful natural art. It was these adventures that left Teresa with a spirit of childlike play in her life and in much of her work. She, eventually, moved back to her hometown, Oklahoma City, where she resides with her dog, Claire Annette.
